The next generation Uncrewed Aircraft System (UAS)
Eurodrone is a joint European programme to answer future UAS requirements.
It has been launched by Leonardo, Airbus D&S and Dassault Aviation as a joint industrial-government initiative. The programme is backed by the governments of France, Germany, Spain and Italy.
CREX- B is a very affordable micro UAS specifically designed for Special Operational and Tactical Forces for "over the hill" and "around the corner" intelligence missions.
HITFIST® is a family of small-calibre turrets for land defence. The crewed version is a two-person power operated turret incorporating the Iatest technologies in the fields of electronics, protection, signature and Man Machine Interface (MMI).
The new uncrewed version integrates the mechanically powered and ITAR-free Leonardo 30mm X-GUN. The turret is exceptionally compact, light, and effective against all types of asymmetric threats with its integration of air burst ammunition.
Leonardo has a consolidated and long term experience in Command and Control systems providing comprehensive and scalable solutions for air, land and naval operations, integrating both manned and uncrewed assets and offering Command Authorities real time information and situational awareness to facilitate decisive response and reaction.
Leonardo, leveraging on its extensive experience in the implementation of Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems, is ready to deploy an Uncrewed Traffic Management (UTM) system, relying on new technologies and a high level of automation, to efficiently and safely manage the rapidly growing civil applications of Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (UAV).
Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are expected to take an increasing role in existing and future operations. Military and security forces need to prove and validate new roles and applications. For this emerging need, Airborne and Space Systems Division offers the UAV BattleLab (UAVBL), a cost effective solution for multiple requirements.
TRP-2 Combat is a small, light, tracked Uncrewed Ground Vehicle (UGV) platform for use in tactical situations where the human presence is not advisable.
The potential of rotary wing platforms to perform both manned and remotely piloted missions is widely recognised. The SW-4 Solo, based on the proven SW-4 light single-engine helicopter, is a flexible asset that be deployed as an Optionally Piloted Helicopter (OPH) or as a Rotary Uncrewed Air System (RUAS) across a spectrum of civil and military roles.
Leonardo is accelerating the progress of technology and innovation in autonomous flight through an investment in Skydweller Aero Inc. an independently owned and operated company. Leonardo is a shareholder and technological investor in the company.
Skydweller will be a solar powered uncrewed aircraft capable of carrying large and powerful payloads, for unprecedented endurance.
skyISTAR is a state of the art multi-mission integrated sensor system for uncrewed aircraft. Its service orientated architecture allows easy system reconfiguration and the introduction of different sensor suites to match a wide range of military, para-military and civil requirements.
The Aircraft Division plays an important role in the first European active Unmanned Combat Air Vehicles (UCAV) demonstrator programme. The nEUROn is a project to develop know-how and maintain design and technological capabilities in the coming years, exploring important new fields including stealth and UCAV. The first nEUROn flight took place on December 1, 2012 from the French experimental test centre at Istres.
Leonardo plays a key role in the NATO AGS (Alliance Ground Surveillance) programme, which involves a group of 15 Allies – including the USA, Germany, Italy and Norway – aimed at acquiring an advanced ground surveillance capability through remotely piloted aircraft.
Mirach 40 is a reusable state-of-the-art multi-threat aerial target system, designed and manufactured completely in-house.
The Mirach 100/5 is a high performance, reusable Aerial Target System which is the standard European Armed Forces threat simulator. It manages up to 8 targets simultaneously in a realistic training scenario and simulates multiple threats flying at high subsonic speeds. The system is controlled by a modern Ground Control Station, allowing mission planning and re-tasking, rehearsal and play back.
